At Huntingtower Primary Academy, our policy on uniform expectations is based on the belief that school uniform:
promotes a sense of pride in our school;
helps to create a sense of community and belonging towards the school;
identifies the children with the school;
supports our commitment to inclusion;
is practical, smart and designed with health and safety in mind;
is considered good value for money by most parents
All pupils are expected to wear our Academy uniform which is as follows:
Navy blue sweatshirt or navy blue cardigan, pale blue shirt or polo shirt, grey trousers or skirts or pinafores, and sensible black shoes, boots or trainers (without logos and with black soles). Socks and tights should be grey, navy or white.
In warmer weather the children may wear grey shorts or blue and white checked or striped dresses. We also encourage the children to wear summer hats/caps for playtimes and outdoor games.
Children are allowed to wear simple studs in pierced ears but have to be removed or be taped over during P.E lessons. Make up and nail varnish are not permitted in school.
Hair ornaments should be of a reasonable size and either blue or black and hair should not be coloured or have decorative patterns cut into it.
The children are required to have P.E kit in school with them each day and the expectation is that the children will wear:
Tower Team T-Shirt, navy blue shorts or skorts and black plimsolls or sensible trainers. In colder weather, pupils can wear navy or grey jogging bottoms for outdoor games.
School sweatshirts, cardigans, polo shirts, grey trousers, grey skirts, Tower Team t-shirts, Navy P.E shorts, Navy Fleece Jackets and reversible jackets, P.E bags and bookbags can all be purchased at Uniform Direct www.uniform-direct.com. Water bottles are available from the Academy office.
Items that fit the uniform expectations can also be purchased at supermarkets and other retailers.
If you have any questions regarding uniform, please speak to your child’s class teacher or enquire at the Academy office.
