  • Anything is Possible!

    Published 27/09/18

What a busy and bustling week we have had, this week. It was wonderful to start the week with our Harvest Festival and we would like to thank you for your contributions to the Foodbank. Mr Wallace, one of our site managers, was able to deliver a full van of goods after the festival on Monday much to the Foodbank’s delight. I know that the children are proud to be able to help our local community and that wouldn't be possible without your support. Thank you also goes to Year 4 who yet again, helped to present the Harvest Festival Assembly. They did a fabulous job of presenting the story of The Little Red Hen and were so good that they then went on to present it again to our Reception pupils who have also been studying the story.

This weekend is one the most exciting times in Grantham’s calendar. The Gravity Fields festival which will be running across the weekend is a wonderful celebration of Isaac Newton’s life and scientific work. Our current Year 5 pupils have contributed to the parade and some of our pupils will be taking part in the parade on Saturday night. We hope you find time to come and join us in the town centre to take part in these amazing festivities.

  • September Success!

    Published 20/09/18

As we head towards the end of September, I am pleased to report that everyone has settled into their new classrooms and settings and the academy is a hive of learning! We have definitely seen more of the autumnal weather that is expected at this time of year and it makes aware of up and coming festivals. On Monday, we will have a special harvest assembly presented by myself and with some help from Year 4. I would like to thank you for all of the contributions to the foodbank that we have already received. We are still happy to collect any further donations on Monday and will be taking them to the Grantham base after the academy day ends.

Grantham is also preparing itself to celebrate one of the most famous scientists in the world, Isaac Newton. The Gravity Fields festival begins on 26th September and runs until 30th September. Again, our academy has been asked to be part of the parade on the Saturday evening. I hope that if you can, you will join us to celebrate.

We have now 420 pupils at our academy and every single pupil has the potential to achieve well and make the most of their time with us. I know that the staff are looking forward to the year ahead. I would like to welcome our newest pupils in Kangaroos and Koalas; you have made an amazing start to your education.

No sooner have we started than we are looking forward to future events this term – on Monday, 24thSeptember, I will be presenting a Harvest Festival Assembly to the pupils in Y1-6. Again, we would like to collect items to be donated to our local food bank – a separate letter will be coming out with a list of items the foodbank would appreciate receiving. Thank you in advance for your donations.
