  • Welcome to Term 4!

    Published 24/02/17

Welcome back to Term 4 and what a start! The children have had a myriad of experiences this week from family workshops to a visitor from the past! It was so lovely to have so many family members work with the Kangaroos and Koalas to make their family shields and I have to say they are really impressive.

Y3 had the most fantastic day with Master Eliot, a sailor with Sir Francis Drake. They gained new understanding of the Elizabethan period and you can read what he thought of his visit to the academy below. We are particularly proud of our community links and on Thursday, our choir made us particularly proud when they opened the Lincolnshire Headteachers’ conference with a range of songs. I have received several messages from Headteachers that I know congratulating the academy for having such wonderful children who perform incredibly well. Thank you to Mrs Kightley, Mrs Goddard-Tate and the choir for their hard work preparing for this event.

  • What an amazing Term 3!

    Published 10/02/17

What a great half term we have had. The children should be as proud of the progress that they have made as we are. They are so keen to be part of the opportunities that we provide that they keep the staff on their toes thinking of new experiences and learning.  Thank you for continuing to support the academy, we all know how important parental support and interest is. The children are very passionate about their reading at the moment and we would ask you to continue this momentum at home. Scholastic reading pro (Y2-6) is accessible at home and the inter-class competition continues. We hope that you have a wonderful and relaxing half term and look forward to seeing you back at the academy on Monday, 20th February 2017.

  • Such an Inspirational Week!

    Published 03/02/17

What a week we have had! Sometimes it is the little triumphs that our children have that make our jobs so worthwhile. It has been a pleasure to have so many children visit my office this week to show and celebrate their learning and achievement in and out of the academy. We have had lots of visitors as well and the children’s enthusiasm and welcoming behaviour never disappoints. Meeting Shona McCullin (Olympic Gold Medal winner for Womens’ Hockey) was a real pleasure. Not just because of the messages she had to share but also because of the curious and insightful questions our children asked.
