Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

On Wednesday, 9th July, all of the Year 6 children, including some very excited teachers, travelled to London to see the new West End musical – Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!

At 2 o’clock all of the children gathered their belongings and piled onto the coach.  During our long 3 hour journey, we stopped at a Service Station to eat our tea.  Once we entered London we saw some iconic landmarks such as: Wembley stadium (Lots of us got it mixed up with Wimbledon!), BT Tower and the top of the Gherkin.  Eventually we arrived at Drury Lane and saw the theatre where we were going to see Charlie!  All of a sudden an excited

buzz ran through the bus.  When we clambered out Mrs Bensley (who was our group leader) gathered us all together for a photo!  It was now time to go into the theatre.  Before long, we were all in our seats - ready to watch the show.

All of us were in awe after watching the first half and couldn’t wait until the interval was over and second half began!

After the show we were all lost for words and we didn’t want to leave, but sadly we had to. Soon after we had all got back on the bus, most of us were too tired to talk and fell asleep…                            By Sheena And Izzy
