Wheelchair Basketball

Lincolnshire Sport has kindly donated  11 basketball wheelchairs for a short period of time to allow our children to experience a new sport.

The design of the wheelchairs is to work with our children on movement, balance, endurance as well as the fundamental side of throwing and catching.

Rhinos and Lemurs have already took on the opportunity to play fun games such as ‘Stuck in the mud’ ‘relays’ and ‘Snake’ game with the use of balloons, as well as the safety aspect of using the wheelchair basketball.

Wednesday, our Lions and Panthers all had a go and they are already asking when they can next use them.  With the fun and laughter we had, I can honestly say we all had a great afternoon.

Don’t worry those classes, who have not yet had their turn, I will make sure you have a chance to join in with all the fun.
