FOOTBALL MATCH AGAINST GHF SCHOOL

On Thursday, 6th March, I took two teams to participate in a friendly match against GHF Primary School.

The first game consisted of Ebony in goal, Alfie, Maksim in defence, James, Hubert, Jack in midfield and Harley as striker.  First of all, it came as a surprise to us all to find that the game was to be played in ¾ size goals.

Despite losing 4 – 1 to Team B (Hubert getting on the score sheet) I thought we played exceptional well, even comments from parents/grandparents mentioned how well our team were playing by passing and working well together too which I agreed. The team has been showing improvements from game to game and yet again they did not disappoint me, especially in the way they listened to instructions and their work ethic. I am unable to pick out individuals in this game as all the players showed great attributes during the game.

The second team consisted of Phylan in goal, Gtyis, Josh in defence, Piotrek, Sammy, Max in midfield and Sam as striker.  Another impressive performance from the boys; winning 4 – 3, with cracking goals from Sammy (2), Sam (1) and Max (1).  The opponents did challenge us, they had a couple of good individual players but Phylan, Gtyis and Josh were able to stand their ground and retrieve the ball and make a defensive situation into an attacking one quickly for Sammy, Piotrek, Max and Sam to pressure their defence and on one occasion we should have been awarded a penalty, when Sam got brought down in the penalty area.

Once again a big “Thank You” to parent(s) and grandparent(s) for all your support you have given us during the football season.
