FOOTBALL FRIENDLY - Huntingtower Vs Cliffedale

Another football friendly game organised, but this time Cliffedale Primary School were the opponents who travelled to us on Tuesday 4th March.  We agreed to play two matches, group A and group B teams.

The first game was for group 1 and the players selected were; Phylan, Josh W, Piotrek, Sam B, Max, Sammy and Maksim.

They played some impressive football throughout this game, with good work ethic from Sammy who delivered perfectly good crosses into the box that allowed Max and Piotrek to score! Phylan in goal had a quiet afternoon, mainly due to the defenders Josh and Maksim doing their jobs and making some excellent tackles but when needed, Phylan swept up the loose ball and played quickly to allow Piotrek and Sam to push forward and pressure their defence.  The boys showed good team work and passing from today’s game and all should be pleased with their performance.

Overall the game finished 3 - 0 to Huntingtower with Max scoring 2 and Piotrek 1.

The second game was for group 2, Frazer, Gytis, Chloe, Matthew, James, Hubert, Jacob and Jack took part. Another impressive performance from the team;  Frazer making some outstanding saves in goal, Gytis and Chloe being in the correct positions in defend and stop Cliffedale attacking on many occasions.  Hubert, Jack and James were continually working hard in midfield to support our forwards and then doing their defensive duties with Matthew, making his debut for the team and Jacob pressuring their defence and getting forward as much as possible also made it hard for Cliffedale.

Overall the team worked extremely hard and never gave up and was unlucky to lose 1 - 0 at the end but all should be very pleased with their performance.

A very big “Thank You” goes to all the parents/family members who came and supported the children and for Jack (Mrs Dilloway’s husband) who volunteered to ref the game.                              Mrs Duxbury-Mead
