Football Match Huntingtower Vs Grantham Prep
Huntingtower 3 : Grantham Prep 4
With the first half score being 3-1 to Grantham Prep, you would not have thought it was a close game. However, both sides had chances and played good passing football. In the second half, Huntingtower knew they had to step up their game to gain a result, they had to be strong in their tackles and win the first and second ball. Within ten minutes of the second half the children outplayed their opponents and they managed to bring the game back to 3-3 with Josh heading in the first and Max scoring both the 2nd and 3rd goals. Then with Grantham Prep applying the pressure, a mistake at the back towards the end of the game gave the ball to Grantham Prep and they managed to slot the ball into the back of the net to make it 4-3.
All players should be pleased with their performance, from Phylan making double saves, to Josh running down the line and Sam holding the ball up and playing the simple ball.
The following players took part: Phylan, Alfie, James, Gytis, Piotrek, Sammy, Josh, Sam and Max.
A big "thank you" must go out to all the parents who provided the lifts and for their support throughout the game.
Mrs Duxbury-
Just a short journey to play a friendly match against Grantham Prep School. This has been the first time that the Year 5 and 6 children have been able to play this year.
