Gazelles Class

The Gazelles would like to welcome you to our class page, we are going to be working extremely hard this term, ready for the exciting challenges ahead!

Miss Anderton and Miss Lamb are the class teachers and Mrs May will be our Teaching Assistant during the mornings. Mrs Cann and Mrs Duxbury-Mead will teach the Gazelles during Tuesday afternoons.

This term we are going to learn about World War II. During our project sessions, we will be focusing on the book 'Rose Blanche,' it will help us learn about the war from a different prospective. This term also see's the beginning of our Continuous Provision sessions, we can't wait to share with you some of our mini projects.

Our Science this term will be Earth and Space.

During the Spring Term, the Gazelles will be taking part in PE lessons on a Tuesday.  We will be doing both indoor and outdoor activities, depending on the weather, so please ensure that you have a T-shirt, shorts and a zip up top along with outdoor trainers, as well as plimsoles for when we are indoors. We also suggest that your child has a water bottle with them to keep themselves hydrated when we are outside on the field. Please could you ensure that if your child has their ears pierced, their earrings are either removed before school or plasters are sent in so they can be covered up. During Spring Term 2 (February half term until Easter) we will be swimming on a Tuesday morning.

This term we are also really lucky to be learning the Ukulele ready for a concert which we will perform to the school at Easter.

Homework will be given out every week. On a Friday your child will receive their Maths and English homework, this is due in the following Wednesday. Our aim is that the children will complete this over the weekend and if there is anything they need some extra support with, then it gives them time to ask us before the Wednesday hand in date. It will really benefit us if this is can be supported at home.

Reading every day will also help us in all of our work and when you do hear your child read, please could you note it in their blue reading record.

If you would like to know more about what we are doing, please come in and ask. Please keep your eyes peeled for any dates and further letters.
