  • A week focused upon well-being!

    Published 27/01/17

Whilst it certainly has been chilly outside this week, the children’s learning has kept them active inside! We welcomed Sensai Jason this week who worked with pupils Year 1 to 6. Using his expertise with Karate, he focused the children’s concentration through their movements as well as inspiring them to success. We all loved his visit and he was very complimentary about the behaviour and enthusiasm of the pupils.

As we approach the end of week 4 of this term, we are beginning to prepare for our Parent-Teacher meetings. Information about your appointment will be sent home early next week and we look forward to sharing your children’s progress and achievement with you. There will also be your child’s work to look at.

  • A Week Packed Full of Inspirational Moments

    Published 20/01/17

This has been a week of inspiration!  We’ve had one of our favourite sports ambassadors visit us with important messages about how we can aim high.  Sam Ruddock, Para-Olympian, was keen to share his experiences at Rio and talk about his future goals.  It is the children who inspire me the most, the video (which can be found in our news section on the website) is packed full of examples of pupils who are keen to do their best, aim high and improve.  The KS2 scholastic reading challenge is one example of our children’s enthusiasm.  Mrs Clack, our Reader Leader, will keep you posted on the total number of words read.

  • Making a fantastic start to 2017!

    Published 13/01/17

It seems as if the new projects in all of the phases have really inspired both the pupils and staff. We were very impressed with the amount of pre-project work some year groups have produced. Looking back across British history for all year groups and understanding more about life in the past is allowing a wealth of learning opportunities to take place and we’re only in week 2!

On Friday of this week, we are taking receipt of a very interesting item, also linked to the whole academy project. This item will be part of our whole presentation of learning and will possibly have the biggest audience for our children’s learning to date. Keep your eye on the Tower Times and Twitter for more information!
