This Week's Football Round Up

Well done to Piotrek, Phylan, Josh, Maksim, Sammy, Max and Sam. playing this week against Long Bennington and Belton Lane.

At Long Bennington the A team played with short sharp firm passes, movement and were strong in their tackles. Both sides had good chances to score but both keepers making some great saves to keep the score 0-0.

The final score ending 2 all with our scorers Piotrek and Max, which was a fair result.  All players should be proud of their performance; they battled, listened and worked hard to the final whistle.

The boys showed composure on the ball, good team work and very organised on what they had to do battling through the rain.  I cannot fault the efforts of the boys once again; they listened to instructions and played good passing football.  Both teams played with great sportsmanship throughout the match.

Well done to all the boys, finishing the game with 11-1 win.

Thank you must go to the parents, Miss Steeples for all their support and Andy Mead for refereeing the game.

Tuesday, 4th February, saw 1 of 3 football matches that was played this week.  The A team travelled down to Long Bennington, who were a strong, physical side.

The pitch was small and the grass was long and the boys knew they had to play short sharp firm passes and play with movement which we did in many parts of the game.  Huntingtower were strong in their tackles and both sides had good chances to score but both keepers making some great saves to keep the score 0-0.

The final score ending 2 all with our scorers Piotrek and Max, which was a fair result.  All players should be proud of their performance; they battled, listened and worked hard to the final whistle.

I would like to say a Big Thank you to the parents (and Grandma) for taking the boys and showing you support and encouragement to all players!

Well done to: Piotrek, Phylan, Josh, Maksim, Sammy, Max and Sam.

We, Huntingtower football club would also like to say a massive thank you to the PTFA as they have bought the new Huntingtower football kit. The boys were excited, not just to play football but to wear the new kit!  The boys looked smart and wore it with pride especially to have the Huntingtower logo printed on their shirts.

Even the rain would not stop these boys playing this evening (06.02.14).  Phylan, Josh, Maksim, Piotrek, Sammy, Max and Sam were soon out on the pitch warming up and couldn't wait to start the game.  The boys showed composure on the ball, good team work and very organised on what they had to do.  I cannot fault the efforts of the boys once again; they listened to instructions and played good passing football.  Both teams played with great sportsmanship throughout the match.

Well done to all the boys, finishing the game with 11-1 win.

Goal scorers - Sam 3, Sammy 2, Max 4, Piotrek 1 and Josh 1.

Thank you must go to the parents, Miss Steeples for all their support and Andy Mead for refereeing the game.
