BELVOIR TRUST – TEACH CRICKET EVENT

Cricket proves to be a real hit with our children

On Monday 25th June, 45 lucky children from Years 5 and 6 went to Belvoir Cricket Club. Whilst there we met up with a second school, Sherard Primary from Melton Mowbray. Everyone had great fun.

In the morning we enjoyed learning the basics of cricket. It was brilliant! We learnt how to bowl, how to bat (which was the most fun), how to catch and how to field. There were definitely some budding cricketers.

After a picnic lunch, four activities took place; a quick cricket match, meeting Scooby the Harris Hawk (who flew so low he nearly touched our heads), meeting the gamekeeper and finding out about his job, and star orienteering which involved a lot of running. These were all great fun.

By the end of a fantastic day everyone was exhausted!
