Rounders Tournament

On Thursday, 5th June, pupils from Huntingtower travelled to The Priory School to play in a rounders’ tournament with 15 other teams.  We didn’t have the best of starts with the weather with heavy downpours and therefore had to wait an hour and half before starting the tournament.

However, having Alex, Sammy, Phylan, Josh, Sam, Cemre, Erin, Trinity and Ebony in good spirits and patience the time soon went and we were able to start the day.

In the league we came 3rd and it took the children a couple of games to get used to playing rounders in a competitive way and organising which tactics would work for Huntingtower especially the order of batting.

After lunch we participated in another league, which we played with enthusiasm, team work and more so, and a smile on the children’s faces.  I cannot express to say how well they all did on the day, how they all worked extremely hard and how much I saw all the children improve throughout the day and deserved to come joint 1st in the 2nd league.

Well done to all children who took part!

I would also like to say a big “thank you” to all parents who were able to provide lifts to/from The Priory.                       Mrs Duxbury-Mead
