BIKEABILITY COURSE

On Monday 25th and Wednesday 26th March, 10 Year 5 children participated in achieving their Level 1 and Level 2 badges in Bikeability.

On the first day, the children learnt the basic safety on checking their bikes (A, B, C = air, brakes, chain) to make sure their bike is road safety. They then went on to learn about the safety on wearing a helmet and when to use the 'life saving routine' which is needed throughout the course.

From learning the above, the children learnt and demonstrated the minor to the major left junctions, U-turns and emergency stops on the first day. The second day, they continued to demonstrate minor to a major right turn which is also known as a J turn, going passed parked cars safety and going from major roads to minor roads.

"Course has been awesome, I have enjoyed coming out on my bike as I don't get many opportunities to do so" said Ciara.

Jack said "The course has been great, I enjoyed the U turn the most.”

All children worked extremely hard and have achieved great results.

Well done!                       Mrs Duxbury-Mead
