UK HORSE MEAT SCANDAL - A MESSAGE FROM FOOD 4 THOUGHT

Food 4 Thought would like to reassure parents that our meats are not affected by the recent discovery. Meat products used on our menus are sourced from within the UK, the vast majority of which from within Lincolnshire. All of these products meet the Red Tractor Assured Food Standards criteria as a welfare minimum.

We appreciate that the recent news surrounding the horse meat scandal, where widely consumed beef products have been found to contain traces of horse meat has sparked concern for many parents whose children eat a meal prepared outside of the home.

When opening sites in new areas and faced with the task of sourcing local meat suppliers we listen to what you, our customers want, choosing award winning, renowned butchers such as Nelsons of Stamford, T Arber of Scotter and H Dawson & Son of Boston, who supply us with only the best locally sourced meat products, including homemade beefburgers for use in our school meals. Our organic meat products are sourced from The Friendly Farmer of Newark.

All of the dishes on our menus including lasagnes, pies and pasta sauces are freshly made in the morning in our kitchen.
