Welcome to Class Tigers.
We are a Year 3 class brimming with enthusiasm, we love learning and finding out about our world. Our Class Teacher is Mrs Clack and our fantastic Teaching Assistant is Mrs Newton. We are also helped by Mrs Willesden and Mrs Storer.
This term we are going back in time to learn about the Vikings. We are discovering when and where the Vikings came from and why they raided Britain. We are finding out about Anglo-Saxon kings, comparing similarities and differences between them. We are also learning about aspects of the Viking lifestyle and crime and punishment in Anglo-Saxon Britain.
We will also be finding out all about Europe, developing our geographical skills by using maps to locate this continent and the countries within it. How many countries can you name that are in Europe? Can you recognise the flags that belong to different European countries and name their capital cities?
We are developing our designing and making skills by creating our own juggling balls and using the season of Autumn for inspiration in our art work. In Computing we will be developing our word processing skills.
Any work or research you have done at home related to our project work is always interesting to bring into class to share with all of the Tigers!
Homework is given out on Fridays and needs to be handed in by the following Tuesday.
Spelling work is done in class each week and there will be a spelling test on each Friday. ‘Look, cover, write, check’ sheets are available for further practice at home if required.
Got a spare moment? On-going Homework:
Remember to read as much as possible Tigers! Use Scholastic Reading Pro at https://educator-slz03.scholasticlearningzone.com/auth/intl/Login/GBRXYTW You can read online books and do quizzes for other books that you have read. Ask your grown-ups to listen to you read and sign your reading record-every 5 signed entries will earn you a merit!
It is very important that you continue to revise your 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables. In Year 3 we will continue to work with these facts and also learn the 4 and 8 times tables.
Practise those times tables and number bonds to make sure you have snappy recall of your number facts!
Mondays and Thursdays
Tigers, make sure you remember to bring your PE kit to school and keep it here all week so you can take part in our PE lessons on Monday and Thursday! Remember to remove or cover up earrings please!
We hope you follow us on Twitter. We try to tweet about our learning everyday!
Come back and see what happening in our lives soon!
