Welcome to the Panthers class page!
Welcome back to Summer term! Our project is The Amazon Rainforest. We are first exploring the rainforests of the world and different climate zones, before specifically focussing on The Amazon and Brazil. We will be practically creating the layers of the rainforest, experiencing what it is like to live there and the affects of deforestation. We encourage the children to continue their learning at home, extra merits are always up for grabs!
Within English, we are working hard to ensure our SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) skills are improving this term,we will be doing this through film and narrative text. We are discussing whether "zoos are cruel".
During maths we will be focussing on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will also be practically using measures and recalling conversion.
Panthers have PE on a Tuesday afternoon (cricket) and should wear shorts and tshirt with trainers. On Thursday afternoon, we will be playing rounders out on the field. If it is sunny, please could your child bring a sun hat and have cream applied before school.
Homework is given out weekly- Optional spellings on Monday, for testing on the following Monday. English is given out on a Tuesday and handed in on a Friday and Maths is given out on a Friday to be handed in on a Tuesday.
