We are the Leopards, a Year One class at Huntingtower Academy. We love to learn and enjoy using our skills in all of our subjects. We try our best and support each other in our learning, as well as celebrating the variety of talents we have in our class. Most importantly we try to care for each member of our Leopard Family. Our Class Teacher is Mrs Stephenson, and we have Mrs Nesbitt to support us with our learning.
This term we have been learning about a variety of Traditional Tales, and we are busy learning lots of skills that will help us in Year 1. This includes working on our Personal Development curriculum, which this term includes 'Don't Give Up!' and 'Concentrate'. We have been trying lots of different ways to focus on our work, and building our resilience.
We are looking at Illustrators in Art this term, and have been finding out about the artists Anthony Browne and David Litchfield. We have investigated some of the techniques that they use, and have created our own illustrations for the story of Little Red Riding Hood. In our Mathematics work we are looking at Place Value, as well as focusing on 1 more and 1 less than a range of numbers.
There are lots of things to look forward to this term, and we are keen to see the children continue to develop their skills. Look out for details of future events in the Tower Times, and on twitter!
